Parent Talks / Community Conversations
Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day
Our children have only one chance for a great education…together we need to get it right!
To continue with the board’s goal to improve relationships and communications with parents, community, students and staff, the school board is holding a board meeting at each school this year. The format allows board members to arrive at the scheduled school one hour before dismissal to visit classrooms, host informal conversation time after school, and to hear school presentations during the board meetings.
The board began holding meetings and Listening Sessions in our schools in December 2010. Formerly called Listening Sessions, and now renamed Parent Talks / Community Conversations, are a unique opportunity for parents, staff and students to share their ideas and concerns regarding their school and the district. We encourage you to review the below schedule and participate in one (or more) of the Parent Talks / Community Conversations.
Please be aware that the role of the school board is for policy decisions; operational concerns are the responsibility of staff. Superintendent Mikalson and school principals also attend the discussions so please be assured that any questions and concerns voiced during the discussion are being noted and will be addressed by the appropriate party.
If you have any question please contact Gina Blanchette, Executive Assistant, 541.923.5437.
