Redmond High School will be hosting the Cascade Mountain League JROTC Drill Competition on Saturday, November 16.
The Cascade Mountain League JROTC Drill Competition will feature 14 schools and an estimated 500 students from Oregon and Washington. Four Central Oregon schools will be competing, including teams from Crook County, La Pine, Madras and Redmond.
This is the first year for the reigning champion JROTC team, Redmond High School, to host the event. Redmond High School is the only Marine Corps JROTC unit in the state of Oregon and will have more than 30 cadets participating in the competition.
Competitions will include unarmed drill exhibition, armed drill exhibition, color guard competitions, marksmanship and PT/physical fitness. Doors will open at 7:00 a.m. and the first event begins at 8:00 a.m. Awards ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m in the Redmond High School gymnasium.
Admission is free to the public. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be available for purchase with all proceeds benefitting RHS MCJROTC.
