Ridgeview High School to Present “Bye, Bye Birdie”

Redmond, Ore – Ridgeview High School’s performing arts department will be presenting “Bye, Bye Birdie,” the musical on multiple dates through February 13-15 and February 20-22, 2014.

“Bye, Bye Birdie,” will be presented by more than 100 Ridgeview High School students and is directed by Linda Nye, theater teacher. The show will feature 50 singer/actors, 20 band students and more than 20 technical backstage student assistants. Musical accompaniment will be directed by Dave Sime, RVHS band instructor and choreography produced by Michelle Mejaski, owner of ‘Gotta Dance,’ studio in Bend, Ore. Lead roles will be played by students Billy Brandt, Jayde Loya, Zachary Dyck, Savannah King, Dylan McCarty and Mandie Kuhlman.

Students will perform a rendition of the musical written by Tams-Witmark. “Bye Bye Birdie,” is one of the most captivating musical shows of our time. It is a satire done with the fondest affection, and tells the story of a rock and roll singer who is about to be inducted into the army.

Performances will be held on February 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22 at 7:00 p.m. There will be a Saturday matinee held on February 15 and 22 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold in advance by phone or in person at Ridgeview High School as well as at the door. General seating is $10 and reserved seating is $12.50.
