Exclusion Day is Wednesday, February 18th.
Immunizations are required by state law for children and students in attendance at public and private schools, preschools, childcare facilities and Head Start programs in Oregon. Nearly every facility that provides care for a child outside the home requires immunizations or a medical or non-medical exemption to stay enrolled.
If you do not meet the state requirements for immunization you will receive an exclusion notice. This is a letter stating that your children must be immunized or will not be admitted to school starting on the school exclusion date.
If you receive an exclusion notice, contact your medical provider to have your child immunized. Children who are not up-to-date on their immunizations by February 18, 2015 will be excluded from school until their immunizations are up-to-date.
Other resources for obtaining immunizations:
- Your family’s health-care provider.
- Local pharmacies can administer vaccinations to children ages 11 and up.
- Becky Johnson Center in Redmond is offering immunization appointments. Call 541 617-4798 for more information.
- Appointments for vaccinations can be made at the M.A. Lynch Elementary School Based Health Clinic. If you would like to make an appointment, call the clinic at 541-923-5800. Please tell the scheduler that you would like to make an immunization appointment.
