Redmond School District Superintendent Mike McIntosh has announced the appointment of Tony Pupo, current RHS Principal, to the position of Director of Support Services for the district beginning July 1, 2016.
Pupo will fill the position currently held by JB Demaris, who has announced his retirement from the District at the end of June 2016. JB Demaris has joined the district in 2002 and has held several leadership roles including Maintenance Manager, Facilities Manager and his current position as Director of Support Services.
Tony Pupo is currently the Principal at Redmond High School and has been at Redmond High School for nine years. Pupo has been in education for more than 16 years, having worked at RHS, Vernonia High School and schools in Morrow County School District and Yakima School District. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Eastern Oregon University and received his administrative licensure from George Fox University. Prior to working for Redmond School District Pupo worked in construction management. His diverse background and working knowledge of the Redmond community made him a clear candidate for the complex role of Director of Support Services.
Superintendent Mike McIntosh shares, “The district is honored to have Tony step into this new leadership role where he can serve our students, staff and community in a greater capacity. Tony’s unique skillset and working knowledge of our district is particularly fitting for this role and our growing Redmond community.”
District and school leaders are committed to ensuring a positive change in leadership at RHS. Once a new principal has been selected the district will send a formal announcement to the community.
Please join us in congratulating Tony Pupo on his new position with Redmond School District!
