School in Session – Tumalo Community School – December 6th

Good evening Tumalo Community School families,

This weekend, Laidlaw Water District experienced a leak in their main line. Although the leak was not in our school building, we want to ensure that the water is safe for students and staff members. With this in mind, Laidlaw has collected water samples to be tested and we expect results back early tomorrow.

In the meantime, school will be in regular session tomorrow, Tuesday, December 6th. We’ve made special arrangements to provide bottled water, courtesy of Earth2O, for students and staff. Bathroom facilities will be usable, however, water faucets and drinking fountains will not be in working order. There will be alternate hand washing options for students and staff members to use. A modified menu will be served for both breakfast and lunch which will include only wrapped or packaged meal items and produce that does not require washing.

These precautions will be in place until test results arrive and our water is deemed safe. Tests are due back tomorrow morning. We will be in touch with you to share the news of the results.

Thank you for your patience, we understand that it can be difficult for some families when school is canceled. Decisions such as these are made with the safety of our students as a priority. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to connect with us at 541-382-2853.
